Interestingness

I found this very exciting.......Flickr's most interesting photos.
Description: "explore and discover some of Flickr's finest"
Done on a calendar format any Day or Month. What a thrill if one of your pictures was there!!
Hope my link works
I also created a calendar using my pics......a great gift for Xmas

Jessie on Flickr

My dog Jessie is now on Flickr. She has perfected her dive and her dive range is half way across the width of the pool. She is a great freestyle swimmer and our neighbours think we are active marathon swimmers and really get great use out of our pool.......but it is really only Jessie ploughing up and down, she has real thunder thighs!!!

Oh my Gosh

WEEK 4
I've got my Blogline account set up and that was easy. Also have some 24 feeds (went totally overboard). Didn't have any other blog addresses on hand but understand how to add them and websites to my feeds.
Didn't quite understand the final steps, got to 'share' and found
http://www.bloglines.com/public/USERNAME
was this what you wanted me to do? I thought perhaps my bloglines name should be in the 'username' section. Along the way I found the Unshelved and www.bloglines.com/acl.elgar@gmail.com not opening.

With all that taken care of, gasp gasp...... I have found 2 pics of the Port Eliabeth Library which I thought I would share with you. By the way for anyone that hasn't heard of PE it is on the East Coast of South Africa, has the most fantastic beaches and great climate although called the "Windy City" but really the wind only blows after midday....really!!!

Good 'old' P.E.

WEEK 3

Went on the Flickr 'tour' and my, my how interesting.....what haven't they thought of. So did a search for my hometown PE and what a treat...pictures galore...even found the city library.

http://www.flickr.com/search/?q=port%20elizabeth%20library&w=all

Queen Vic was a landmark meeting place for us teens and the pigeons loved her too.....balancing on her head. The library had those old fashioned ladders which could slide along the front of the shelves, they were soooo long, a sure Health and Safety no, no today.

Everyone is still busy looking at sites and blogging away. Some found the start up route confusing and perhaps bullet point instructions would have helped but once setting up their blogs felt a feeling of accomplishment and I could hear the sighs as they sat back in their chairs and viewed their blogs. So all is well in the 2,0 world at St Heliers Library.

2nd Thoughts on Blogging

WEEK 2 (Thing 4)

Being the chatterbox that I am, I am going to find it hard to "let my fingers do the talking".
I was amazed that when facing the monitor I was lost for words. So driving to work, brushing my teeth and between TV ads ( I am a Shortland Street fan), I constantly churned over what on earth I was going to say.

I must say that the office is in a 'buzz" over 2.0. and the 23 steps which flip flop to 43 steps every now and then.

So, have had a look at Bebo, Myspace, Facebook and thought "very interesting" and I may go back and try them out.

Everyone is asking what is this "PE or Port Elizabeth" thing and quite simply it is the City where I was born and raised and I suppose where I became a "hen" although I would rather be a "chick".

More on that later..............PE I mean not the 'hen" thing.

Port Elizabeth Chick has landed

Well here I am doing "la Blog". I never thought I would do this but have been asked to do a 'pilot' and thought what the heck I would give it a go..... (I have already run out of things to say) so sitting here with my hand over my mouth and my heart thumping......ah well ....the weather here today is a bit dull..... and now I think I will go and have a cup of tea and lie down for a bit as this is all very overwhelming!!!
