In my blog I thought I would do short snippets of my Hometown. I am living in New Zealand now so this is a trip down memory lane for me.
So far you have seen the Library and Queen Victoria and so the "Horse Memorial" which I loved as a child is next.
Erected in honour of Horses and Donkeys who perished and served during the Anglo-Boer War 1899-1902 and and erected in 1905.
Standing 16 hands 2 inches, the figure of the soldier is life size.

This great statue is said to be one of only three memorials in the world dedicated to horses so quite special.
